Online Scout Manager (OSM) is our central system used to manage all aspects of the Scout Group in one secure, easy-to-use platform. It helps our volunteer leaders organise everything from weekly programmes and badge progress to attendance and payments—making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. OSM also gives parents and carers visibility of what their young person is getting up to and helps keep everyone informed and up to date.
We use OSM as the main hub for running all of our sections (Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts). This includes:
Programme Planning: Organising weekly meetings, activities, and events
Badge Tracking: Recording progress and awarding badges
Attendance: Keeping track of who is attending each session
Event Management: Sharing details and managing sign-ups for camps, trips, and activities
Payments: Collecting subs and payments for events securely online
Record Keeping: Storing important information such as contact details and medical information
Parents and carers are given access to OSM through a system called the Parent Portal. This allows you to:
View your child’s badge progress and achievements
See upcoming events, camps, and important dates
Update personal, medical, and emergency contact information
Make payments for subs, trips, and activities
Give permissions for events and activities online
Having everything in one place makes it much easier to stay informed and involved.
It’s really important that all information held on OSM is accurate and up to date. This helps us ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people, especially when it comes to medical details and emergency contacts. We encourage parents and carers to regularly check and update their information via the Parent Portal.
OSM allows us to manage payments simply and securely. You’ll be able to see exactly what payments are due, what they are for, and pay online at your convenience. This helps reduce the need for cash and keeps everything transparent and easy to track.
We take data protection seriously. OSM is a secure platform used by Scout Groups across the UK, ensuring that all personal information is stored safely and only accessible by authorised leaders. This helps us meet data protection requirements while keeping everything organised and accessible.
